Attorneys

Steven H. Rosenfeld has provided counseling and representation to sports, recreation and entertainment entities, producers and promoters of live entertainment, venue owners and operators, recreation facilities and nightclubs for over twenty years. He also works with his clients in the areas of risk management and loss prevention. Steve also has a wide range of experience in the areas of business litigation, environmental impairment and toxic torts, construction liability, insurance coverage analysis and litigation, professional liability and alarm company liability.

Steve provides advice and has lectured on issues arising from the insuring of media risks, entertainment and sporting events, nightclubs and recreation facilities. Steve has provided counsel on and litigated matters arising from numerous contingency insurance policies, including claims for performer non-appearance, promoter abandonment and event cancellation. He has significant experience in the entertainment and media liability and intellectual property arenas, and provides counseling to insurers issuing entertainment and media related errors and omissions policies on underwriting practices, which has included the drafting of applications and policies.

Steve successfully represented Fireworks Entertainment Inc. (a subsidiary of Can West Global Communications) in defeating an attempt by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation to block the broadcast of a Fireworks financed and distributed syndicated television series (Mutant X) on the alleged ground that the series violated Fox's rights in the X-Men motion picture.

Steve received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 1978 and his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law in 1981. He is admitted to practice in New York, and before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York.
